TURBOCAM Attends Round Table with New Hampshire ESGR
– Barrington, NH (USA) –
TURBOCAM’s Personnel Manager Pete Hanson recently attended a round table at the Manchester Armory with the New Hampshire ESGR (Employer Support of the
Guard and Reserve). Also in attendance were Senator Jean Shaheen and The Chief of Staff of the US Army, General Mark A. Milley.
The discussion centered on the Guard’s preparedness for live combat. In cases of war, the Guard may be called into active duty, and they need to be prepared. Currently, the Guard trains for 39 days each year. That number may be increased to 120. “Right now, if I was to call on a Guard unit, it would be 120 days before in conscience I can say, ‘They are ready to go to war,'" said General Milley on “Military.com.” Also discussed was the impact the increase in annual training days might have on employers. In addition, there was discussion regarding how the military and employers may be able to work together to support employees and their families during deployments.
Since 1991, TURBOCAM has been supporting the men and women of the military. The company began its work with the Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR) and it has blossomed from there. In 2007, the U.S. Department of Defense honored TURBOCAM with the “Freedom Award." The award was created to publicly recognize employers who provide exceptional support to their National Guard and Reserve employees. It is the highest in a series of employer recognition awards given by the Department of Defense. Senator Shaheen is a member of the U.S. Senate Committee on Armed Services, and has worked for fair treatment of American veterans and an articulate military strategy that keeps the United States and its allies safe from harm. She has supported New Hampshire soldiers, military bases, and defense-related businesses at the federal level.
General Milley is a United States Army officer. A four-star general, he is the 39th Chief of Staff of the Army. He previously served as the 21st commanding general of U.S. Army Forces Command from August 15, 2014 to August 9, 2015.
