TURBOCAM Europe Exhibits at IMechE Steam Turbine and Generator User Group

05-Apr-2012 – Fareham, Hampshire (UK) – TURBOCAM Europe Ltd. exhibited at The IMechE Steam Turbine and Generator User Group, which was held March 20–21 at the University of Warwick in Coventry, England. Fred Kinchin (Business Development Manager) and Dan Tiley (Senior Project Manager) exhibited a variety of steam and gas turbine blades at the two-day event.

Building on the popular series of power generation user groups, the program featured many lectures and discussion groups that enabled those involved in the management, operation and maintenance of steam turbines and generators, to discuss common problems and issues, exchange ideas, identify potential solutions and learn about new developments. The event format encouraged open debate and problem solving, using informal presentations and discussion forums, to facilitate networking and sharing of experiences among the steam turbine generator community.

"The eight lectures were very interesting and covered current developments in steam turbine design through to trends in the wider power industry," said Kinchin. "We were able to interface with approximately 140 delegates from all over the world. Most were senior engineers and decision makers from leading companies in the steam and gas turbine industry such as Siemens, Alstom, EDF (British Energy), Rolls-Royce, GE, Dresser-Rand, Weir, and many others."

Kinchin continues, "Our 3x2 meter display stand featured over 20 unique steam and gas turbine blades that we manufactured at plants in England, India, and Romania. Some of the parts were highly polished and featured complex geometry that quickly caught the eye of inquisitive engineers. We were delighted to have extended dialogue with many existing customers and to introduce our services to several prospective clients."
