TURBOCAM Wins “People’s Choice Award” for “Best Display” at 2012 ASME/IGTI Turbo Expo19-Jun-2012 – Barrington, N.H. (U.S.A.) – Three representatives from TURBOCAM travelled to Copenhagen, Denmark, June 11–15 to exhibit at the annual ASME/IGTI Turbo Expo. TURBOCAM has attended this show for nearly 20 years and we continue to regard it as a fabulous venue to meet with existing clients as well as to network with prospective clients.
Turbo Expo is a premier event that annually brings together those from across the world who are working in industry, academia, and government to hear the latest developments in gas turbine technology. Not only does Turbo Expo provide a unique venue where attendees can review technical papers and presentations on the latest cutting-edge research and innovation in the field of turbomachinery, but it also provides a top-notch exposition of displays by industry-leading companies and the opportunity to network with peers in the field.
This year’s event was held at the Bella Center in Copenhagen, Denmark, and was a grand success. With over 3,000 attendees, 300 technical sessions, 1,165 papers, and over 100 exhibitors it was widely heralded as their largest show ever by nearly every metric.
TURBOCAM’s exhibit was set up to be a “manufacturing show and tell” where we displayed nearly 100 parts showcasing our manufacturing solutions along with small banners describing the markets we serve and the manufacturing technologies and solutions we offer. Attendees were greatly impressed and couldn’t help but stop at our booth to admire, touch, and handle the hardware on display.
This show is geared to aero-designers and product engineers. Our “open booth” approach was unique and completely differentiated us from the other more formal displays at the show. Many visitors to our booth said we had the “most fun and most interesting” display at the show and others said it was like “walking through a museum of world-class manufacturing.”
The good news did not end there. The organizers of the Turbo Expo encouraged the 3,000 attendees to vote for the best displays at the show. There were 102 total booths. They had one award for “Large Booths” that were 20’ x 20’ or larger. They had another award for all the other “smaller” booths. There were 97 exhibits in the “smaller booth” category and TURBOCAM won the “People’s Choice Award” for the “Best Display.”
During the closing ceremony, the show organizers relayed that TURBOCAM had more than twice as many votes as the 2nd place finisher. They presented us with the award with our peers in the industry clapping and cameras flashing.
David Pincince, TURBOCAM Marketing Manager, was invited to the stage to accept the award and relayed that “it was a great honor and extremely validating that our exhibit efforts truly impacted and reached our audience!”
The ASME/IGTI Turbo Expo continues to prove its worth as a place where leaders in the turbomachinery industry meet, and TURBOCAM has its place among these leaders as the world's largest supplier of 5-axis machined impellers and other rotating bladed parts. We look forward to another fabulous show in San Antonio, Texas in June 2013.
