TURBOCAM Wins “People’s Choice Award” for "Best Display" at 2013 ASME/IGTI Turbo Expo

07-Jun-2013 – Barrington, N.H. (U.S.A.)Dave Pincince, TURBOCAM Marketing Manager, accepted the 2013 People's Choice Award for the Best Display at the 2013 Turbo Expo. Five representatives from TURBOCAM travelled to San Antonio, Texas, June 2–6 to exhibit at the annual ASME/IGTI Turbo Expo. TURBOCAM has attended this show for nearly 20 years and we continue to regard it as a fabulous venue to meet with existing clients as well as network with prospective clients.

Turbo Expo is a premier event that annually brings together those from across the world who are working in industry, academia, and government to hear the latest developments in gas turbine technology. Not only does Turbo Expo provide a unique venue where attendees can review technical papers and presentations on the latest cutting-edge research and innovation in the field of turbomachinery, but it also provides a top-notch exposition of displays by industry-leading companies and the opportunity to network with peers in the field. TURBOCAM is such a firm believer in the ASME/IGTI Turbo Expo that we joined the ranks as a show sponsor this year. TURBOCAM supplied  custom lanyards with our company name and logo that were worn by all attendees.

This year’s event was held at the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center in San Antonio, Texas. With nearly 3,000 attendees, 300 technical sessions, 1,200 papers, and over 120 exhibitors, it was widely heralded as one of their largest shows held in North America.

TURBOCAM’s 10’ x 20’ exhibit was set up to be a “manufacturing show and tell” where we displayed 158 parts showcasing our manufacturing solutions along with small banners describing the markets we serve and the manufacturing technologies and solutions we offer. Attendees were greatly impressed and couldn’t help but stop at our booth to admire, touch, and handle the hardware on display.

This show is geared to aero-designers and product engineers. Our “open booth” approach was unique and completely differentiated us from the other more formal displays at the show. Many visitors to our booth said we had the “most fun and most interesting” display at the show and others said it was like “walking through a museum of world-class manufacturing.”

The good news did not end there. The organizers of the Turbo Expo encouraged the attendees to vote for the best displays at the show. There were 120 total booths. They had one award for the six “Large Booths” that were 20’ x 20’ or larger. They had another award for all the 119 other “smaller” booths and TURBOCAM won the “People’s Choice Award” for the “Best Display.”

David Pincince, TURBOCAM Marketing Manager, was invited to the stage to accept the award and relayed that “it was a great honor and extremely validating that our exhibit efforts were appreciated by such some of the most distinguished leaders in our industry!”

The ASME/IGTI Turbo Expo continues to prove its worth as a place where leaders in the turbomachinery industry meet, and TURBOCAM has its place among these leaders as one of the world's largest suppliers of machined turbomachinery flowpath components. We look forward to another fabulous show in Dusseldorf, Germany in June 2014.
