Happy Thanksgiving
We celebrate Thanksgiving knowing that God has provided for us generously over the past year, even growing the Turbocam International community by over 60 additional employees and their families. We share these stories of our success so you can rejoice with us. It is only because of God's blessings, that we are able to bless others.
A Container School for ShivNagar in Nepal
Cargo of Dreams has partnered with Stoneybrooke Christian School to bring a new container school to ShivNagar in Nepal. Stoneybrooke Christian School is located in Southern California, and they have made it a school-wide mission project to bring vital educational resources to the community of nearly 500 former slave families on the outskirts of Tikapur.
The container is slated to ship in January 2012. Once it reaches Nepal, it will have to clear customs and be transported to its final destination. TURBOCAM has hired three teachers and pays their salaries and also for school supplies used in this container school.

TURBOCAM and Clean Water
Earlier this year, we were introduced to the process of ozonation in which water passes through two sets of filters before being exposed to ozone, which destroys all bacteria. TURBOCAM installed our first ozonated safe drinking water system at the JMHA Hospital in Salem District, Tamil Nadu, India. Not only is the water there now safe, but the all-inclusive cost of the system was only $1,000. This pricing is extremely favorable compared to other solutions on the market and the maintenance costs are also quite sustainable.
Based on our success with the first installation, TURBOCAM has installed three additional systems at:
- The R.C. Chettipatty home in Salem
- St. Nicholas Middle School, R.C. Chettipatty
- The Karuna Day Care Center and Primary School in Pune
TURBOCAM has also established a formal partnership with Water4 Foundation to manufacture well drilling hardware and hand pumps in India. These components and related technologies will be used to economically drill wells in rural areas of India and Nepal.
In early November 2011, several TURBOCAM employees from USA and India, including TURBOCAM President Marian Noronha, made a trip to Nepal. They met up with locals who were already trained and they worked together to dig a new well in Kichahi. The TURBOCAM team was unable to finish the well during their two-week long adventure, but it should be completed by locals within the next few weeks. Presently, Kichahi is fed by a pipeline from a well about one mile away.
Schools in Nepal
TURBOCAM has built two, fully private schools: Grace School (28.5295, 81.0294) in 2008 and PremNagar School (28.4885,81.1215) in 2011. The school in PremNagar is partially finished, but students are attending and using the classrooms that are completed. Have a look at them on Google Maps using the coordinates above.
A third school is slated to be built in Kichahi and TURBOCAM Europe has agreed to financially support the building of this school. The land has been purchased and the two sides of the compound wall have been built. There will be a total of five classrooms when the project is completed, which is scheduled for May 2012.
TURBOCAM Employees Create a Fund to Help Local Charities
While God continues to bless TURBOCAM with new business and favor with our clients, our employees at Barrington, N.H. (U.S.A.) have recognized that many local charities are seeing a dramatic increase in the need for their services coupled with a decrease in donations and funding. To meet this need, our employees created a fund that allows us to step up our aid to several local organizations providing vital services and relief to our community. At our company luncheon in mid-November, generous donations were made to several local agencies in New Hampshire, including the Barrington Food Pantry and the Homeless Center For Strafford County in Rochester.
Romania
Since 2008, TURBOCAM Romania has been manufacturing blades and vanes for steam and gas turbines as well as other production aftermarket spares and components. While our company is growing and manufactures quality products, we are more excited about how our efforts are changing the community and improving the quality of people’s lives. Our history of hiring orphans, unique training programs, corporate mission statement, and corporate culture are impacting the local community in Romania and challenging their stereotypes about how businesses can run, thrive, and succeed. Beyond creating sources of income and economic stimulus, our work in Romania is resulting in young men and women who take pride in their work, possess marketable skills, have increased self-respect, and a new outlook on life.
