Junior Maintenance Engineer 

Turbocam UK is a supplier of automotive and aerospace components and also manufactures blades for aero engine test rigs and gas turbines.

 

The Junior Maintenance Engineer at Turbocam works alongside the Maintenance Manager to provide a support service to the business by diagnosing machine, equipment and service area faults and making recommendations to either carrying out the repairs themselves or secure outside assistance.

 

The Maintenance Team is involved in equipment development and continuous improvement, working to incorporate efficient methods of maintaining new equipment and may be involved in the installation and commissioning process.

Other Responsibilities

  • Learn to perform Maintenance tasks in line with SSW (Safe system of work).
  • Attend breakdown repair to Turbocam equipment.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on the CNC Lathes and Mills. 
  • Use various calibrated instruments to check machine tool function.
  • Learn how to interpret circuit diagrams.
  • Support and maintain efficiency by keeping work areas clean and safe.
  • Inspect and document all operations per TURBOCAM procedures as stated in the Quality Manual.
  • Effectively liaise with client departments and customers.
  • Carry out PPM programmes as directed by the Maintenance Manager.
  • Comply with established safety practices and be proactive in communicating potential safety hazards to the Safety Representative.
  • Support the company mission statement.
  • Other duties as necessary.

 

Skills, Experience, & Education

Experience of working in a manufacturing/ production environment.

Ideally completed an Engineering apprenticeship or equivalent.

Facilities maintenance and facilities engineering experience, including experience of pressure systems.

General knowledge of computers, plc’s, electronics and various electrical operating systems, and various mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems.

Electrical and mechanical knowledge with proven troubleshooting capabilities, including diagnosing breakdowns in a timely manner.

Competent with working at heights.

Experience of sub systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, servo drives and PLC fault finding.

Experience of machine tools desirable.

Location: Kites Croft Business Park, Fareham.

Hours: 40 per week

Duration: Permanent.

Package: £22 – 25,000 plus 10% bonus, gym membership, private healthcare and life assurance.
