This commitment is evident in robust quality management systems in each division, appropriate to the markets served. Each division is driven by a common purpose to meet and exceed customer requirements, and to embrace the requirements of the ISO Quality Standards. Implementation and improvement of quality processes is fully supported by management.

AS9100:2009
TURBOCAM’s headquarters division and our aerospace production unit share certification to the AS9100 standard with the exclusion of design. Conformance to the varied and demanding requirements of our customers is verified by a variety of CMMs, precision gaging, and on-machine measuring capabilities. An in-house NDT department provides penetrant testing per ASTM E1417 level 3 and magnetic particle inspection per ASTM E1444. Real-time SPC is utilized on the higher volume production for improved process control. More than ten inspectors and quality staff manage these processes.

TAPS is a high volume producer of truck turbocharger components and is certified to the TS16949 standard with the exclusion of design. Product inspection utilizing DCC-CMMs and precision gaging is integrated into the production process along with real-time SPC to ensure effective process control. The quality of materials provided by the supply chain for the turbocharger impellers and nozzle ring assemblies is managed by a number of quality personnel, including a supplier quality engineer. More than 10 inspectors and quality staff manage these processes.

TAPS Charleston's turbocharger component assembly operation in Charleston is also certified to the TS16949 standard with the exclusion of design. This quality system is integrated electronically with that of the New Hampshire operation, including production SPC monitoring and quality management system software. The equivalent of one full-time inspector oversees the quality of the assembled product.

TURBOCAM Energy Solutions is an affiliate company providing metallurgical solutions for wear applications, such as bearings, rollers, bushings, and gears. The company's proprietary TX1 process is used in demanding applications where it may achieve as much as 30 times the wear resistance as untreated surfaces, and easily surpasses the capabilities of other processes. This quality system provides research, development, engineering services and specializes in proprietary metal treatmemt services for multiple industries.

TURBOCAM Europe's quality initiatives promote continuous improvement throughout the organization with a goal of designing quality into the manufacturing process. Their quality system is certified to ISO 9001:2008 and is currently being upgraded to include the requirements of TS16949 and AS 9100. The company uses two Wenzel CMMs and has two staff overseeing the quality of the manufacturing process.

TAPS UK uses SPC methods in high volume manufacture and continually aims for zero defects. TAPS UK is certified to ISO 9001 and is working towards TS16949. The company uses Wenzel CMMs and has two staff led by an automotive quality engineer overseeing the quality of the manufacturing process.

Our high volume production facility in Romania (TAPS-RO) was launched in 2008 specializing in components that demand high-quality, low-cost precision manufacture. TAPS-RO manufactures thousands of variable geometry turbocharger nozzles per year and is equipped with CNC lathes, milling centers, automated and semi-automated digital gaging systems, and CMMs. TAPS-RO was certified to ISO 9001:2008 in 2012.
