What’s next with surface technologies?

New Treatment, No Problem

Your surface requirements come first. We pay attention to established markets as well as emerging trends, so when our customers bring us their design challenges, we can design a surface treatment that best fits their needs.

How We Do It

Our team of materials scientists, chemists, and engineers cover all aspects of research and product development. An advantage that TES has is that our TURBOCAM International machinists combine their knowledge with our surface engineering efforts, giving us the ability to contribute to your product development from material selection, to machining, all the way to surface finishing.

The team uses an array of in-house testing equipment to characterize performance.

Our lab capabilities include:

  • Hardness and microhardness surface indenters
  • Microstructural analysis with etchants
  • Electrochemical corrosion testing
  • High Temperature Tribometer for wear and friction testing
  • CMM
  • Tensile Testing

Team

Tyler Bennett

Tyler is one of our Materials Innovation Scientists and researches surface properties of new and existing technologies at TES. He graduated from Wheaton College with a Bachelors in Physics and continued his studies at the University of New Hampshire where he earned his Ph.D. in Materials Science and Engineering. Metallurgy, nanotechnology, and specialty coatings are his areas of expertise.

Bradley Crannell

Bradley is the senior Materials Innovation Scientist on staff. His wide-ranging education with degrees in Chemistry, Environmental Biology, Agricultural Soil Chemistry, and Metallurgy have a common theme of understanding and controlling surface reactions in manufacturing and in the field. His experience in mining, dredging, agriculture, manufacturing, laboratories, and more allows him to quickly understand the practical challenges that our customers face.

Kevin James

Kevin, our Product Development Engineer, responds to customer needs with product and process designs. Prior to TURBOCAM, he worked for Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) for 13 years as a qualified nuclear engineer and as a Lieutenant Commander in the Navy’s Strategic Sealift Readiness Group. In 2008, he graduated from Massachusetts Maritime Academy with a B.S. in Marine Engineering and a US Merchant Marine Engineer’s License, Steam, Motor, Gas Turbine, of unlimited horsepower.

Michaela Noronha

As a Product Development Chemist, Michaela researches applications for TX Treatments, runs prototype jobs, and manages projects with new customers. She has a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from William & Mary, which helps her understand her customer’s surface chemistry needs. Michaela also works on process improvements to increase work and treatment efficiency.
